Dr. Mohamed Khalil is a distinguished Consultant Physician at Hamad Medical Corporation, Doha, Qatar, with a proven track record in advancing healthcare quality and safety. With postgraduate training from the Mersey Deanery in Liverpool, UK, he holds dual accreditation in General Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine, complemented by his Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (London).

Dr. Khalil has spearheaded transformative initiatives across various healthcare systems. During his tenure at St. Helen’s and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals in the UK, he was instrumental in launching a New Frailty Unit and implementing Comprehensive Geriatric Assessments in local community hospitals. These efforts significantly improved the continuum of care for older adults, including innovative pathways for older cancer patients through the introduction of Geriatric Oncology services. His contributions earned the Frailty Team recognition for Excellence in Clinical Care at the Annual Staff Awards in 2018.

At Hamad Medical Corporation, Dr. Khalil continues to excel in patient care, focusing on acute internal medicine, multidisciplinary teamwork, and medical education. He actively mentors residents and fellows while collaborating with Qatar University and Weill Cornell Medicine Qatar to train future physicians.

Dr. Khalil played a pivotal role during Qatar's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, leading quality initiatives at Mesaieed Hospital. Furthermore, he led the Department of Medicine’s preparation for FIFA 2022 Qatar™, establishing a dedicated multidisciplinary team to ensure world-class healthcare services for international visitors.

Currently, Dr. Khalil is at the forefront of corporate-wide patient flow improvement initiatives in collaboration with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), enhancing patient experience and operational efficiency within secondary healthcare systems, Additionally he supported the risk mitigation planning for Hamad General Hospital, contributing to the planning and service delivery across multiple sites to ensure seamless and efficient healthcare delivery.
