Dr. Maisam Waid Akroush is a distinguished consultant internist and Gastrohepatologist firmly committed to advancing medical practice and education. She is the Founding President of the Pan Arab Women Physicians Association, where she champions the empowerment and representation of women in medicine across the Arab world.

As the UK Alumni Ambassador for the MENA region, Dr. Akroush bridges connections between medical professionals and enhances collaborative opportunities. She also serves as the Vice President of the Mediterranean Task Force for Cancer Control (MTCC), contributing her expertise to improve cancer care in the Mediterranean region.

Dr. Akroush is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Jordanian Hashemite Charitable Organization (JHCO), where she participates in initiatives aimed at community health and welfare. She also acts as a Clinical Examiner for the Membership exam of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP-PACES), evaluating the next generation of medical professionals.

Her contributions to medical education extend to her role as a part-time lecturer at the Medical School of the University of Jordan (JUH), where she inspires and mentors aspiring physicians. Additionally, she is a member of the international advisory board for the 24th edition of Hutchison’s Clinical Methods book, ensuring that key clinical practices are accurately represented.

Previously, Dr. Akroush served on the appointed committee of the Jordan Medical Syndicate, further demonstrating her dedication to advancing the medical profession in Jordan.
