Dr. Gamal Alfitori is a Senior Consultant in Internal Medicine at Hamad General Hospital, Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC). He earned his medical degree from Tripoli University in Libya, followed by postgraduate training in the United Kingdom, where he achieved Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Acute and General Internal Medicine. Before joining HMC in 2014, Dr. Alfitori served as a consultant in Acute Medicine at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in the UK.
Dr. Alfitori holds academic roles as a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Qatar University and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College-Qatar. He is also an MRCP(UK) PACES examiner and has contributed as an examiner for the Arab Board of Internal Medicine. With over 30 peer-reviewed publications, his research focuses on advancing medical practice and patient care.
In addition to his academic and clinical responsibilities, Dr. Alfitori plays an active role in healthcare quality and service development at HMC. He is the Vice Chair of the Morbidity & Mortality (M&M) Committee of Internal Medicine at Hamad General Hospital. He participates in numerous HGH and HMC corporate committees, driving initiatives to enhance patient care and healthcare delivery.
