Dr. Abdulaziz Zafar

Dr. Abdulaziz Zafar has been a General Internal Medicine Senior Consultant at Hamad Medical Corporation's prestigious institution since August 2014.
He graduated from Khyber Medical College Peshawar University in Pakistan and then moved to the UK for further internal medicine training. He did MRCP and FRCP from the Royal College of Physicians London. Apart from membership, He did vocational training with the Black Country Vocational Training Scheme and the Royal College of General Practitioners London membership. He has dual accreditation on the GMC specialist register for Internal Medicine and as a General practitioner. He also has a diploma in Geriatric Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians London.
Before moving to Qatar, he worked as a consultant Physician in NHS England hospitals, Dudley Group of Hospitals, and Warwick General Hospital, for 11 years. He has vast experience in managing both acute and chronic medical conditions. He had a significant role in establishing an Acute Medical Unit and Ambulatory Emergency Care unit at Warwick General Hospital, UK.
Dr. Zafar has taught medical students at different medical schools. He was an Honorary senior lecturer in clinical medicine at Birmingham University UK and Warwick Medical School UK. He is an assistant professor of clinical medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College Doha, Qatar, and an Associate Professor of clinical medicine at the University of Qatar. He is a qualified clinical and Educational supervisor for general practitioners in the UK.
Since joining HMC, he has been involved in quality development projects, helped establish different pathways and audits, and presented grand rounds at international conferences. He has several publications in credible medical journals. He believes in teamwork and would like to continue working with my teams to improve services in HMC for better patient care.
