Dr. Salha Al Bader obtained her MBBS degree from King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 1992. She completed her post-graduate studies in Canada, receiving the Specialty Certificate in Internal Medicine/Hematology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2000. 

She also obtained additional certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine/Clinical Hematology and Medical Oncology in Toronto, Canada, in 2000, 2001, and 2004. Additionally, she earned a Master of Molecular Oncology: Molecular Basis of Cancer from the European School of Oncology (CEB) in 2018.

Appointed as a Consultant in Hematology/Oncology at Hamad General Hospital from February 2003 to 2005, she was promoted to Senior Consultant in Hematology/Oncology at NCCCR in 2005. 

Dr. Al Bader is a member of several international oncology societies, including ESMO, ASCO, and the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) Scientific Council.

Dr. Al Bader has served on numerous HMC committees. Her research focuses on breast and gynecological malignancies and cancer genetics. She has multiple active grants from QNRF and has authored several publications and guidelines. 
She has established numerous services unique to the cancer program, including the ACGME-I Accredited Medical Oncology Fellowship.

She founded the hospital-based standard Risk Breast Cancer Screening in 2008, the Hereditary Cancer Genetic Program in 2013, and the Breast Tumor Board in 2005. Additionally, she chairs the Organizing Committee of the Annual Breast Cancer Conference, which has been held regularly in October for the past seven consecutive years.
