Message from Chairman Organizing Committee

Molecular Imaging Nuclear Medicine (MINM) plays a central role in Precision Medicine and personalized management of oncological and non-oncological disorders. With recent developments in hybrid imaging such as whole-body PET/CT and PET/MR along with new tracers for Theranostics, MINM is a leading specialty in clinical care, translational research, and drug designing.

It is important that the MINM specialists and scientists share their knowledge and experience so that the techniques are widely available and appropriately applied. With this objective MINM service at HMC organized the first MINM Conference in March 2022. The hybrid meeting was attended by more than 400 MINM practitioners from 17 countries. Thirty-four presentations by the experts, technical workshops, and vendor exhibitions provided an opportunity for the attendee to know the recent happening.

Encouraged by the success of the first Qatar MINM Conference, it has been decided to hold this event annually. The 2nd Qatar MINM Conference is planned for physical attendance from Nov 14 to 16, 2023 in Doha Qatar at the Intercontinental Hotel Doha Beach and SPA. Sixteen World-renowned experts in MINM from the US, Europe, and the GCC/Middle East will deliver state-of-the-art lectures.

During several scientific sessions over three days, participants will hear of the latest MINM techniques and their applications covering PET/CT, PET/MRI, Cardiac PET and SPECT, radiotracer therapies, QI/QC, AI, and radiation safety. A pre-conference workshop on Cardiac PET, Workshop on Radiation safety in MINM, and lectures on alpha and beta radiotracer therapy are also part of the scientific program.

To give an opportunity to discuss current challenges and future happenings, three panel discussions are part of the event. During these sessions, the experts will give their opinions and will respond to questions from attendees. Another addition this year is sessions on challenging clinical cases so the attendees can interact on clinical interpretation of the cases. An exhibition arranged by the vendor to show their technology is also organized. The conference will provide a venue to share the experience of MINM at HMC with the attendees and showcase our department.

The Society of Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Imaging (SNMMI, USA) and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC) leadership will be present at the conference. This will provide an opportunity to discuss the ways to establish cooperation and collaboration between the GCC counties and the SNMMI & ASNC in this specialty.

We hope to showcase Qatar as a beautiful country to our guests. Under the FIFA World Cup 2022 project, the entire country was renovated with several new urban communities developed. The Pearl, Lusail, Katara, shopping malls, seaside resorts and locations, and best cuisine outlets are spread all over. The weather is usually pleasant during the month of November. Several social programs for the delegates will be available on the sidelines and the attendees are able to book directly with tour providers through the registration website. A gala dinner for the guests is planned on the 15 November.

We encourage our colleagues at HMC working in diagnostic radiology, oncology, cardiology, endocrine disorders, infectious disease, and nephrology to register and attend any of the scientific sessions that interest them during the conference. There are sessions for technical, scientific, and nursing staff which will lead to CME awards.

We look forward to welcoming you to the event.
