On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is my great pleasure to invite you to attend the 2nd Qatar Conference on Safe Anticoagulation Management: New Advances and Trends. The conference is organized by Al Wakra Hospital in collaboration with the Heart Hospital and other HMC facilities, which have expanded their anticoagulation services to deliver the safest, most effective and compassionate anticoagulation management, with high patient satisfaction rates.
Anticoagulation helps reduce the formation of clots which prevents cardiovascular diseases, which are a growing problem in Qatar, causing death, disability and impaired quality of life. In the past 50 years, many clinical advances on anticoagulation have been seen, where new strategies have also been discovered. The role of clinical pharmacist in the management of anticoagulation has been established, and clinicians have learnt more about the importance of medication safety.
This conference offers a platform to discuss evidence-based and safe anticoagulation management. It will also provide networking opportunities and a chance to build partnerships with other healthcare providers.

I am delighted to welcome all delegates and guests to Doha on the 10th to 11th of April 2020, for the 2nd Qatar Conference on Safe Anticoagulation Management: : New Advances and Trends.
QCSAM aims at enabling development in the field of anticoagulation with focus on safe management, updated information and its application. This conference offers opportunity to share novel ideas in addition to bringing local and international experts under one roof to share and learn skills and experiences, discuss current clinical applications and future innovative approaches. For an enriched experience, there will be many activities to attend, including interactive panel discussions and workshops.
As a conference co-chairman, I know that the success of the conference depends on those who have worked with us on organizing, both the technical program and supporting social arrangements. In particular, the Advisory Committee members for the brilliant suggestion on organizing the conference, the Scientific Committee for reviewing the papers, and our sponsors who have helped us to keep the cost of the conference down for all participants.
