Dr. Ibrahim is actively involved in clinical and translational research of breast cancer in addition to his breast cancer patient care. His focus is around developing treatments of metastatic breast cancer and working to develop clinical and genomic signatures of brain metastasis, as well as characterizing tumors, at early stage, yet at high risk of metastasis to brain. He focuses on clinical trials to identify drugs that cross the blood brain barrier and help modulate the metastatic micro-environment and/or have direct cytotoxic effect on the brain metastatic lesion. He is also interested in clinical trials with immune-modulating drugs or chemo-conjugate drugs that focus on brain metastasis.
In addition, Dr. Ibrahim is very active in research that aim at developing new drugs or regimen of triple negative breast cancer or tumors that are resistant to currently available treatment options.
Dr. Ibrahim published extensively in breast cancer field including peer-reviewed papers, invited articles and book chapters as well as numerous abstract presentations and posters at national and international cancer meetings.
He is an active member of multiple cancer societies, steering committees and advisory boards and led multiple national and global clinical trials and has been invited in numerous occasions to present his research and to share he opinions in the management of breast cancer. He is listed on the Best Doctors’ of America, since 2003.
