Hanan Farghaly

Dr. Hanan Farghaly is Head of Cytology Lab, Senior Consultant Pathologist and Director of the Pathology Residency Program at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC).

After growing up in Doha, Qatar, Dr. Hanan received her medical degree from Alexandria University in Alexandria. Egypt. She completed her Pathology Residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. After completing her residency, she then went to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston where she did a Cytopathology Fellowship. This was followed by a Surgical Pathology Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Hanan is a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Anatomic Pathology and American Board of Cytopathology. Her special interests include Cytology and Surgical Pathology with a special interest in Gynecologic Pathology, Thyroid Pathology, Head and Neck Pathology and Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology.  Dr. Hanan joined the Pathology Department at HMC as Senior Consultant Pathologist and Head of Cytology Lab, coming from University of Louisville, Kentucky where she was Associate Professor of Pathology, Director of Surgical Pathology and Director of the Surgical Pathology Fellowship program.
