Emeritus Professor of Pathology at the Universities of Cape Town and Toronto, Chief Medical Officer of Deciphex/Diagnexia
Runjan Chetty is an Anatomical Pathologist/Histopathologist with sub-specialty interests in GI, pancreatic and digital pathology. He is currently the Chief Medical Officer of Deciphex/Diagnexia and Emeritus Professor of Pathology at the Universities of Cape Town and Toronto.
He previously was Pathologist-in- Chief/Program Medical Director, Laboratory Medicine Program, University Health Network/University of Toronto, and held University/head of department chairs of Pathology in Durban, Glasgow and Oxford.
He has a DPhil from St John’s College, University of Oxford, over 490 peer reviewed publications and former Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Clinical Pathology.
His current work entails AI development and implementation in clinical pathology, supervision of a virtual global department of over 250 Anatomical Pathologists, and provision of an Outreach and Education programme for Diagnexia.
