- A high quality program to screening for breast cancer is currently provided by PHCC .
- Dedicated breast and bowel screening centers have been opened in Qatar at the following Health Centers: 1) Al Wakra, 2) Leabib, 3) Rawdat Al Khail in addition to the Mobile Screening Unit.
- If you are 45 years old or above you need to have your breasts screened at least once a year.
- To make an appointment you can call the hotline on 8001112 from Sunday to Thursday, 7am to 5:30pm.
- Upon arrival to the health center the medical staff will assess your health status, then you will have your breast screened.
- The breast cancer screening team will inform you of the result as soon as they are available, through SMS to your mobile phone.
- If the examination result is abnormal, you will be referred to the National Center for Cancer Care and Research (NCCCR) where the HMC staff will guide you through further investigations and referral to the specialist physician.
- If deemed necessary, you will be referred to the radiology department at NCCCR for an ultrasound and possibly a biopsy.
