Diagnostic Criteria
In order to diagnose diabetes, blood glucose is measured at two separate times; once when fasting and again two hours after food has been consumed. The table below indicates the blood glucose criteria for diabetes diagnosis.

5.5–6.9mmol or 100–125mg/dl

7.0mmol or 126mg/dl and above for two ​readings
Less than 7.8mmol or 140mg/dl
