Dr. Iftikhar Kullo

Dr. Iftikhar Kullo is a Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. He completed training in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases, as well as the Clinician Investigator training pathway, at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Kullo’s research includes electronic health record-based genomic discovery and implementation of genomic medicine with a particular focus on heritable lipid disorders and early-onset atherosclerotic vascular disease. Dr. Kullo is a Consultant in the Department of Cardiovascular Diseases and is the Director of Early Atherosclerosis and Familial Hypercholesterolemia Clinics that evaluate and treat patients with premature vascular disease, including those with familial lipid disorders. He is the Principal Investigator of the Mayo electronic MEdical Records and GEnomics (eMERGE) grant and has authored more than 233 scientific papers. Dr. Kullo is a Fellow of the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology. He has been continuously funded by the NIH since January 2003 and serves on the NIH’s Clinical and Integrative Cardiovascular Sciences (CICS) Study Section.
