
Dr. Katie MacLure
Dr. Katie MacLure is a Senior Research Fellow and Lecturer in the School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences.
An ex-Computing Lecturer, Katie is a Member of the British Computer Society (MBCS; Education Liaison Officer, Aberdeen branch), Pharmaceutical Scientist member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (SRPharmS), registered with UK Council for Health Informatics Professionals, Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Member of the Digital Health Institute.
Dr. MacLure is the Module Coordinator for Doctorate of Professional Practice (module 4), the final taught module before the research phase of the 5 year professional doctorate. Katie also teaches undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students a range of research methods with particular focus on research governance, collecting meaningful data and qualitative data analysis.
Current areas of doctoral supervision include researching people’s experience with medicines amongst people with learning disabilities, remote delivery of pharmaceutical services using technology enabled care, social media and e-professionalism in pharmacy practice, medication error reporting systems.
