Biological reference intervals and clinical decision values

1- Titer < 1:80   Negative (Considered Negative)
2- 1:80 ≤ Titer  ≤1:160   Non significant reaction
3-Titer ≥ 1:320 Significant reaction in favour of visceral amoebiasis.

Factors affecting test performance and result interpretation

Certain sera, whose antibody concentration is very high, can give rise to a prozone phenomenon (with disappearance of the clouding) in the initial dilutions, which disappears in the subsequent dilutions.
