Having your baby moved to another hospital because of a medical emergency can be frightening and confusing. However, it may be necessary as not all facilities are equipped to handle high risk babies needing specialized tertiary care.
WWRC is home to The Qatar Neonatal Transport Program, a nationwide emergency transportation service provided in partnership with HMC’s Ambulance Service to transport at-risk premature babies, twins, triplets and quadruplets, and other newborn babies that have major congenital or surgical anomalies, respiratory distress or require invasive surgery.
Staffed by a WWRC physician, respiratory therapist, a nurse and an ambulance team, our staff is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to care for our most critical care babies to provide safe and effective emergency transport 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
