If you think you are in labor, please ask a friend or family member to drop you off at the emergency entrance of the WWRC (or the hospital you have been booked at to deliver) before parking your car.
Upon arriving at the Emergency Department, one of our specialized nurses or midwives will assess your condition through our maternity triage system. If they believe you to be in active labor you will be admitted to the Labor and Delivery Unit, however if your labor has not yet sufficiently progressed and you are not yet ready to deliver, you will be either kept in for observation in one of the antenatal wards or sent home with instructions.
If you are admitted, a female support person of your choosing is welcome and encouraged to stay and provide you with emotional and physical support.
