Your experience of having a baby is a journey that extends before and beyond the delivery room. It starts by taking control of your health, by understanding what is happening to both you and your baby, and also by discussing choices you need to make, including raising any concerns or questions you may have to your clinical team. If you are unclear about anything, please consult with your nurse of midwife. She will help you and, ensure you receive timely and accurate information and antenatal advice as and when you need it.
Increasing your knowledge about what you are experiencing and dispelling any worries or misconceptions you may have about pregnancy and childbirth will not only reduce stress for you and your baby, it will also empower you to take control of your own health by actively participating in decisions which will contribute to a positive birth experience. Our goal is to minimize your time in hospital and support your discharge home.
