We work in collaboration with our partners at Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) to provide you with the best possible antenatal care for you and your baby during your pregnancy. Your PHCC doctor will refer you to a HMC maternity hospital, according to whether your pregnancy is progressing normally or is classified as high-risk.  Once your appointment is confirmed, you will receive a call from our Nesma’ak team. If you are being referred from a private hospital, you will need to bring your referral form to WWRC’s Outpatient Department to book an appointment.

During your first visit you will have the opportunity to discuss your pregnancy with your Outpatient Department nurse or midwife and doctor; who will record details of your family, personal and medical history, together with any information about a previous pregnancy you may have had. Your doctor will also explain the routine screening procedure and examinations which will be offered to you and take place throughout your pregnancy journey.

During your visit, you can expect to have your vital signs checked as well as your blood and urine tested. We will conduct an abdominal examination to ensure your baby is growing normally and lying in the correct position, and provide advice to you regarding diet, exercise, and your general health.
