WWRC provides all its patients with the option to attend antenatal classes in our Outpatient Department. These classes are run by our experienced team of nurses and midwives who specialize in pregnancy and birth. Details of these classes will be provided to you during your first antenatal visit.  The classes are valuable and will provide you with essential information to enable you to have a healthy pregnancy (including healthy eating and exercise advice), answer any questions you may have and show you around our new facility These classes will also help you meet women going through the same experiences as you are so that you can develop an informal support network.

During the classes, we will show you techniques to help you relax and physically prepare for labor and childbirth and will advise you on preparing a birthing plan so that we know your preferences during labor and delivery. We will also make you aware of some of the changes you might experience after the birth of your baby, and, if you are a first-time mother, you may also benefit from the information we share about newborn examinations, baby bathing, changing nappies, and tips for successful breastfeeding.

Antenatal classes are offered at all of our maternity facilities at HMC. These can be accessed through referral from your doctor or you can request an appointment through your PHCC or HMC obstetrician.
