Many of you now understand that cervical cancer can be prevented, or detected early by cervical screening, often known as a pap smear. An abnormal pap smear result or other observed abnormalities may be worrying. However, you can be assured that if you are referred to our Colposcopy Clinic in our Outpatient Department you will be in the best possible hands.

A colposcopy is a diagnostic procedure which enables our clinicians to closely examine the cervix, vagina and vulva for signs of disease, and particularly any signs of pre-cancerous or cancerous cervical cells. Our experienced team will do everything they can to explain the procedure to you and make you as comfortable as possible during the colposcopy.
