Community Midwifery Home Care Services
Under the Postnatal Community Midwifery Home Care services, a dedicated and skilled team of midwives and nursing patient care assistants provide specialised postpartum care to women, who have experienced a high-risk pregnancy or given birth by Caesarian section all in the comfort of their homes. They help the women, and their newborns receive prompt post-delivery care, get a referral to primary health care or to Mobile Doctors for any abnormality thus reducing the need to visit an emergency department for non-urgent reason or getting admitted to the hospital. This ensures that mothers and their newborn receive timely, individualised care following delivery. The team supports recovery and facilitates referral to primary health care or specialised services when needed. This early intervention reduces emergency hospital visits, prevents surgical site infections and minimise hospital readmissions.
The midwifery team makes two visits to the patients. The first visit is within 72 hours a week after birth hospital discharge while the follow up visit is scheduled after the first visit conducted 7 to 14 days after birth.

Midwifery Care Services
Midwifery care emphasises woman-centered, evidence-based practices, and plays a crucial role in improving maternal and newborn outcomes. Midwives are skilled healthcare professionals who provide comprehensive care to women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Their services focus on promoting natural, safe, and respectful maternity care, particularly for low-risk pregnancies.
