American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)




The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Provider Unit (PU) forms an integral part of the Department of Nursing Midwifery Education and Research. The PU focused outcome for nursing/ midwifery professional development for all activities is enhanced competency of the nursing and midwifery workforce to deliver quality patient focused care.

The Provider Unit plans, implements, and evaluates continuing professional development activities aligned with ANCC guidelines in order to contribute to the advancement of the mission of the Hamad Medical Corporation, Nursing Services and Department of Nursing Midwifery Education and Research.

Coordinate, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of continuing professional development  activities as part of preparations for ANCC Accreditation process •Undertake rigorous needs assessment to inform continuing professional development activities• Provide an infrastructure to ensure accurate record keeping including data entry and outcome reports associated with delivered educational activities in line with CPD policy• Employ a robust quality assessment process to monitor educational activities •Implement an effective marketing and communication approach to ensure all stakeholders are aware of PU activities.
