Intermmediate Quality Improvement course (IQIC)

Program Overview and Program Goal
The Intermediate Quality Improvement Course (IQIC) is developed to provide more in-depth knowledge and skills in quality improvement science methodology. This is the first of its kind intermediate level course designed to complement the Basic and Advanced Level. As a prerequisite to this course, participants must have completed the HHQI’s Fundamentals of Quality Improvement Course, must be involved in a quality improvement initiative and must have basic MS Excel skills. IQIC will deliver topics focusing on data collection, interpretation of charts, utilizing QI tools and other related topics.
The goal of the Intermediate Quality Improvement Course (IQIC) is to provide topics that will support health care professionals to further develop their skills and knowledge and to increase their contribution in the quality improvement initiatives in their respective areas. Each course topic is based in evidence and values-based quality improvement methods designed to provide practical tools and knowledge that can immediately be applied in the healthcare system.
Course Objectives and Curriculum
At the end of the course, the participants will be able to:
- Describe the history of quality improvement
- Develop a deeper understanding on the Lens of Profound Knowledge, Model for Improvement and the Sequential PDSAs
- Develop and interpret run charts in relation to quality improvement initiatives
- Identify the principles of control charts
- Develop and analyze the Pareto Charts
- Create and explain process maps
- Discuss the concept of spread and sustainability
- Recognize the importance of teamwork and communication

Registration
Thank you for your interest shown in attending the HHQI’s Intermediate Quality Improvement Course (IQIC).
Below are the criteria for those who will be accepted in the course:
- Must have completed the HHQI’s Fundamentals of Quality Improvement Course (FQIC)
- Must be leading or part of an improvement initiative
- Must have basic Excel skills
Note:Graduates of the IHI Improvement Advisor Program, IHI Improvement Coach Program, HMC’s Fellowship Program, HHQI’s Improvement Leadership Program, and Clinical Care Improvement Training program will not be accepted as they have obtained a course which is equivalent or more than the Intermediate Level”.

The maximum number of participants allotted are 20 per session and the registration will be closed automatically once it is fully booked.
