    27/02/2023 – 28/02/2023

Last February 27 & 28, 2023, HMC and the HHQI in collaboration with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement has officially launched the Age-Friendly Health Systems Collaborative during its Learning Session 1 at La Cigale Hotel, Doha. Present on the launch were HMC leaders - Dr. Abdulla Al Ansari, Prof. Abdul Badi Abou Samra, Mr. Nasser Al Naimi, and Dr. Hanadi Alhamad. We are also grateful to have with us our esteemed IHI Faculty – Dr. Terry Fulmer, Dr. Nicole Brandt, Dr. Cynthia Brown and Ms. Christina Southey here in person with Dr. Donna Fick attending virtually.

The collaborative focuses on the 4Ms Framework which comprises of Medication, Mobility, Mentation and What Matters Most. By addressing these elements, the Age-Friendly Health Systems Collaborative aims to improve health outcomes, accessibility to healthcare, and enhance the quality of life for older adults.

During the collaborative, we were able to learn from the resources, tools, and best practices from the faculty and healthcare teams which is beneficial in improving the care for older adults. It has also promoted cross collaboration among facilities and teams to share ideas, successes, and opportunities for improvement, and to learn from one another. This collaborative will surely help in creating a healthcare system that is more accessible, responsive, and better equipped to the needs of older adults.
