The HMC Pediatric Emergency Center (PEC) in Al Sadd is the premier children’s emergency medical facility in Qatar.
A recently completed expansion and refurbishment program has seen the entire facility expand by 25 percent. This includes an additional 30 nursing staff, 18 pediatricians, six consulting physicians, and a total of 22 new beds. The facility now has a total of 216 nurses and 65 doctors charged with evaluating and treating the emergency needs of children aged 0 to 17 years.
In addition, the expansion includes new amenities such as a large family waiting area, male and female waiting areas, an additional six triage rooms, 13 treatment rooms, emergency procedure room, an isolation room and a pharmacy.
The expanded center is an integral component of HMC’s Facilities Master Plan to meet the future healthcare needs in Qatar by growing capacity of existing facilities and enhancing highly specialized care.
The facility’s expansion is designed to alleviate existing constraints and more effectively leverage the present space; while implementing the highest internationally accepted standards in pediatric emergency care.
The PEC Al Sadd offers patients quality medical care from board certified, specialized healthcare professionals to manage the emergency treatment of children.
The new extension is connected to the existing center, and is intended to efficiently ease the flow of pediatric patients 24 hours, 7 days a week.
