The journey of Nursing Informatics at Hamad Medical Corporation started in 2006 with the vision to advance the best use of clinical information and technology systems. It is considered to be the first unit of its type in the Gulf and Arab Region. Through the integration of a comprehensive clinical information system in Qatar, nurses can spend more time with patients and less time looking at charts; raising safety, efficiency and quality of patient care. With nursing informatics, nurses can competently and independently manage and communicate information into nursing practice.
