ANNOUNCEMENT

The 2022-23 residency programs intake will accept applications between 1 August 2021 and 30 November 2021 (11:59 p.m. Qatar time).  This is for a July 2022 program start.  Prospective applicants should refer to the eligibility criteria and application procedures, including the FAQ and guidance on completing an application, prior to submitting an application.

Please note that graduates of 2015 may apply this year, despite being outside of the six-year eligibility range.  This is a one-time provision being applied in the current intake only.  “Graduation year” is calculated based on the year of writing final exams.

HMC Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program

Eligibility Requirements

In order to be eligible to apply for the HMC Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  1. Graduated within the past six years from a recognized dentistry.
  2. Have completed, or will complete by 30 June of the intake year, an internship training program which consists of rotations in the following areas:
    • Periodontics
    • Orthodontics
    • Endodontics
    • Prosthodontics
    • Pedodontics
    • Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
  3. Hold a valid Medical License or be eligible for licensure in: i) their home country; ii) the country where they currently practice or, iii) Qatar.
  4. Have been in continuous clinical practice in the one-year period preceding application andwith no practice gaps of one year or greater at any time since internship completion (without appropriate justification of extenuating circumstances).
  5. Met the minimum listed score in any one of the following required English language proficiency examinations:

Note 1: Applicants who hold a valid Qatar Residency Permit may apply with a TOEFL iBT score of 80 or IELTS score of 6.5, but if selected, will be required to raise their score to the above mentioned level prior to the program start date.

The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program intake typically takes place between 1 August and 30 November, for residents seeking to start their program the following year. The opening and closing of the intake will be announced on this website as well as on the online application portal.
