HMC Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program Matching Process 2020

HMC’s Medical Education Department is pleased to announce that the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program matching intake for the academic year 2020-21 is now open and will accept applications between 7 October 2019 and 30 November 2019. This intake is for residents seeking to join HMC starting July 2020.

Eligibility Requirements

In order to be eligible to apply for the HMC Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  1. Graduated from a recognized dentistry school between 2014 and 2019 (inclusive).
  2. Have completed, or will complete by 30 June of the intake year, an internship training program which consists of rotations in the following areas: 
    • Periodontics
    • Orthodontics
    • Endodontics
    • Prosthodontics
    • Pedodontics
    • Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
  3. Hold a valid Medical License orbe eligible for licensure in their home country, the country where they currently practice, or in Qatar.
  4. Have been in continuous clinical practice in the one-year period preceding application and with no practice gaps of one year or greater at any time since internship completion (without appropriate justification of extenuating circumstances).
  5. Met the minimum listed score in any one of the following required English language proficiency examinations:

****Applicants who hold a valid Qatar Residency Permit may apply with a TOEFL iBT score of 80 or IELTS score of 6.5, but if selected, will be required to raise their score to the above mentioned level prior to the program start date.
