Dr. Sajith Pillai trained as a physician in Mumbai, India. His deep interest in healthcare management led to a Master’s in Health Administration at the University of Pittsburgh, US. He is a firm believer in the profound impact of Improvement Philosophy – in healthcare and in life.
Before moving to Doha, Sajith served as an Improvement Specialist with the Rand Corporation-University of Pittsburgh Health Institute (RUPHI) to enhance the quality of maternal & child health provided by Family Health Centers in Pittsburgh, US. He has also co-authored a RAND Publication report, reflecting on this experience.
A Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Sajith is also an IHI-HMC Quality Improvement & Patient Safety Fellow and is a faculty for the IHI Best Care Always Campaign at HMC. He is also a credentialed Microsystem Coach (Level-1) from the Dartmouth Institute Microsystem Academy, and shares his learning of effective coaching skills for improvement as a Core Faculty and Coaches’ Lead for the Clinical Care Improvement Training Program (CCITP).
Dr. Sajith Pillai currently serves as the Quality Analyst for Medicine Department at HMC.
