Dr. Dimitri P. Mikhailidis BSc, MSc, MBBS, MD, graduated from the University of London and is Academic Head, Reader and Honorary Consultant in the Department of Clinical Biochemistry, Royal Free Hospital campus, University College London Medical School, University College London, UK. He also is a Visiting Professor, University of Belgrade, Serbia, and at two universities in Saudi Arabia, King Saud University and King Khalid University. His clinical interest is vascular disease prevention and his research interests are dyslipidaemias and thrombosis.

Dr. Mikhailidis is the former Vice-president, Section of Pathology, Royal Society of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine and Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology. He has 1,167 entries on PubMed and 22,093 citations listed in the ISI index, Core Collection (H-factor = 64). He is ranked 120 in the world by citations in the field of Pharmacology and Toxicology (ISI Web of Science).

Dr. Mikhailidis is Editor-in-Chief of several journals, including Current Medical Research and Opinion, Current Vascular Pharmacology, Expert Opinion on Pharmacotherapy and Angiology (impact factor up to 3.5). He has acted as referee for 105 medical journals and has lectured in 49 countries.    He was awarded the Order of St. Mark (first class) for services to the Greek community outside Greece. He holds Honorary Doctorates from six Medical Schools in Greece.
