Dr. Mark D. Huffman is Assistant Professor of Preventive Medicine (Epidemiology) and Medicine (Cardiology) at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. He is a practicing cardiologist and researcher with an interest in global cardiovascular epidemiology, prevention, and implementation science research and research training.

Dr. Huffman recently completed an acute coronary syndrome quality improvement clinical trial including more than 21,000 participants across 63 sites in Kerala, India. He is an associate editor for JAMA Cardiology and serves as the senior program advisor to the World Heart Federation for its Emerging Leaders presidential initiative, which has recruited 100 researchers from 42 countries to help achieve the WHO's goal of reducing premature mortality from chronic diseases by 25% by 2025.
