Prof Guillaume Alinier, PhD, is Director of Research at Hamad Medical Corporation Ambulance Service (Doha, Qatar) and Professor of Simulation in Healthcare Education at the University of Hertfordshire (UK). He has a strong interest in clinical simulation-based education, patient safety, and human factors. He is regularly involved in single and multi-agency full-scale and table top major incident simulation exercises. He has been affiliated with the field of pre-hospital care since the beginning of his academic career nearly 20 years ago. He serves on 6 peer reviewed journal editorial boards and has published widely in the form of articles and book chapters. He also recently co-authored a book on debriefing with Prof Denis Oriot (https://www.linkedin.com/in/guillaume-alinier-9a6757). In 2006, he was awarded a National Teaching Fellowship from the UK Higher Education Academy and since 2009 he is a Visiting Fellow at Northumbria University, Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. Guillaume also serves on various national and international committees of learnt societies, including the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, the Society if Europe for Simulation Applied to Medicine, and the UK Association for Simulated Practice in Healthcare, with responsibilities covering accreditation, certification, standards setting, low-cost simulation, and pre-hospital care.
