Mr. David Flory CBE joined HMC as Chief of the Tertiary Hospitals Group in October 2015. To date, Mr. Flory is responsible for the strategic leadership and management of the majority of HMC hospitals. This includes Hamad General Hospital, the Heart Hospital, National Center for Cancer Care and Research, Al Wakra Hospital, Al Khor Hospital, The Cuban Hospital and the new Medical City Hospitals namely, Women’s Wellness and Research Center, Ambulatory Care Center and Qatar Rehabilitation Institute. He is also responsible for the commissioning and operations of the new facilities such as Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital, Itqan Clinical Simulation and Innovation Center and the new Trauma and Emergency Tower at Hamad General Hospital.
Mr. Flory is a very experienced Chief Executive and health system leader. From 2012, he was the Chief Executive of the National Trust Development Authority in the UK which oversees around 100 hospital trusts. Before that he was the Deputy Chief Executive of the entire National Health Service (NHS) for England, and was also the National Director General for NHS Finance, Performance and Operations. He has held a range of national and regional health leadership and CEO positions previously, including in the North East of England.
