Dr. Muhammad Faiyaz-Ul-Haque, PhD, FRCPath

Dr. Faiyaz-Ul-Haque is a Senior Consultant Clinical Scientist and Head of the Molecular Pathology unit, Department of Diagnostic Genomic Division (DGD) at Laboratory of Medicine & Pathology, Hamad Hospital, Doha, Qatar. Previously, he was a Consultant and an Associate Professor at King Khalid University Hospital of King Saud University in Riyadh KSA.

Dr. Faiyaz-Ul-Haque has made tremendous contributions to the field of human genetics with highest standard and by employing several innovative research methodologies. He was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Human Molecular Genetics jointly from Bonn University, Germany and Quaid-i-University, Islamabad, Pakistan. He received two post graduates training from the University of California, Los Angeles and Northwestern University, Chicago. Later he worked as a Visiting Scientist at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada. Dr. Faiyaz-Ul-Haque’s extensive contributions to human genetics have been cited in OMIM at more than 70 places. 

His major research focus is cancer and cardiovascular genomics, specifically the clinical application of next-generation sequencing (NGS) to characterize cancer and musculoskeletal genomes and epigenomes to drive precision genomic medicine. Dr. Faiyaz-Ul-Haque is unrelenting efforts are paving paths to define and establish standards in clinical diagnostics. He is considered an expert in the field of clinical genomics.

He is a referee in a number of well reputed national and international journals, and author of more than 50 articles in international scientific journals including Science, Nature Genetics, American Journal of Human Genetics, American J Medical Genetics, and Genomics.
