
Prof. Stephen Hodges Thomas
Professor Stephen Hodges Thomas trained in Emergency Medicine in the University of North Carolina system. He completed a flight physician fellowship in North Carolina then completed his graduate studies at Harvard, where he obtained a master’s degree in quantitative methods (biostatistics).
He has two decades of experience in Emergency Medical Services including working in the air medical transport field. He rose to the position of Associate Professor of Surgery and Academic Affairs Director in the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School Department of Emergency Medicine where he spent 16 years before moving to become the first endowed Professor & Chairman of the newly formed Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Oklahoma.
After five years in Oklahoma, he moved to Qatar as Chairman of the Emergency Dept. at Hamad General Hospital. He is also a Professor of Emergency Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar.
