Brigadier General (ret.) Ioannis Galatas, MD, MSc, MC (Army)

Brigadier General (ret.) Ioannis Galatas, MD, MSc, MC (Army), is a Greek retired military physician specialized in Allergy and Clinical Immunology. 

Since 2001 he has been involved in CBRNE operations as a planner and instructor trained (including live agent training) in a number of countries abroad. 

During the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, he served as Commandant of the Olympic Hospital CBRN Resp Unit. He holds an MSc. in “International Terrorism, Organized Crime and Global Security” (Coventry University, UK) and is a Ph.D. candidate at Athens Medical School. 

His last assignment was as Head of the Dept. of Asymmetric Threats, J Mil Intel Service, HNDGS. Currently, he is the Editor-in-Chief of the online “C2BRNE Diary”; a Senior Research Associate at the "Center for Security Studies", HMoI; a member of the Didactical Board of Univ of Rome "Tor Vergata" for "International CBRNe Masters" programs; a CBRN consultant, Emergency Department, Gemelli Policlinico, Catholic University of Sacred Heart, Rome; the manager of the CBRN Knowledge Center, International CBNE Institute (Belgium) and Director of Operations andTraining, Qatar CBRN Academy.
