Dr. Attila Hertelendy

Dr. Attila J. Hertelendy, is a faculty member at Florida International University, College of Business in the Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics where he teaches Management of Healthcare, Health Policy in the Healthcare MBA and Organizational Behavior and Leadership in the Executive MBA Program.  Dr. Hertelendy is also a current faculty member at Georgetown University, where he has taught and developed courses in the International Executive Master’s program in Emergency Management.

Dr. Hertelendy has over 15 years’ experience in healthcare, EMS and Disaster research. His research focuses on interdisciplinary approaches to solving complex organizational problems in healthcare and the field of disaster management that centers on the leadership and development of teams, organizational culture and trust. Dr. Hertelendy has contributed to scientific literature with numerous peer-reviewed publications in the fields of healthcare, business and disaster science. He also serves on the editorial board for Prehospital Emergency Care, and Disaster Medicine and Public Health Preparedness.

Before joining the faculty at FIU, he held faculty positions as an Assistant Professor and Director of Emergency Health Services at George Washington University and was a former Dean at Colorado State University.  Dr. Hertelendy began his career in healthcare as a hospital administrator in Saudi Arabia and since then has been in healthcare executive positions in Canada and the US prior to joining academia.

Dr. Hertelendy is the Principal of Great White EMS - a healthcare and emergency management consulting firm based out of Palm Beach, Florida.
