Ms. Asmaa Mosa Al- Atey 
Director of Nursing
Hamad Medical Corporation, Hamad Trauma Center.

Ms. Asmaa has over 16 years’ experience in nursing, working on both a clinical and administrative level. She also has operational experience in expanding trauma services in the State of Qatar.

Ms. Asmaa received her BSc in Nursing from Qatar University and started her nursing career as a staff nurse in general surgery then worked her way up to the career ladder until she was promoted as Director of Nursing in 2015 for Trauma Services in Hamad General Hospital, looking after 68 critical and acute care beds and more than 200 registered nurses. She was a pioneer in the establishment of the Trauma Surgery Trauma Stepdown units within Hamad Trauma Center.

Over the years, she has been a part of several clinical and corporate committees that are involved in improving patient outcomes and achieving healthcare excellence. She works with various media organizations and key government agencies to facilitate nationwide information dissemination about the nursing profession, disease prevention and road safety. 

Ms. Asmaa is heavily involved in road safety campaigns and received an award from the Head of Traffic Department in Qatar in 2014. She has represented Qatari Nurses at the World Health Organization’s Young Nurses Event and she is currently appointed to lead the Nightingale Challenge in Qatar in competition with global nurses.

Ms. Asmaa has presented in numerous national and international conferences and is also actively engaged in presenting didactic lectures and workshops in leadership and clinical practice to trauma nurses. In 2019, she established a comprehensive continuous education program for the Trauma Nursing Department.

In 2012, Ms. Asmaa was recognized by Hamad Medical Corporation as the best head nurse in Hamad General Hospital, and in 2014 was a recipient of the Rising Star Award - part of HMC’s Star of Excellence program - for her participation in and completion of the Leadership for Change program led by WHO.
