
Ali A. Al Janahi
One of the most senior members of HMC management, Mr. Al Janahi joined the Ministry of Public Health 41 years ago as a Chief Administrator for primary health care. He then joined Hamad Medical Corporation and was assigned to the Tertiary Hospital (HGH) Administration.
In 1989, he was promoted to Assistant Hospital Director and was assigned to HMC’s long term/rehabilitation hospital - Rumailah Hospital.
His key achievements included re-developing the hospital in several phases including the commissioning of new dermatology, dental and prosthetic orthotics departments. The former Women’s Hospital was also renewed and converted to a psychiatric hospital.
In 1995, Mr. Al Janahi was appointed as Assistant Medical Director for Admin Affairs and in 1997 as Director of Materials Management. In 2004 he was appointed as Executive Director of Corporate Management-engaged and supervised strategic direction and consultancy services such as UPMC and PWC. In 2008, he was then appointed as A/Asst. Managing Director for Facility Development focused on Capital Projects to ensure projects were aligned to HMC’s vision, mission, strategic planning and facility master plan.
In 2009, he was appointed as A/Asst. Managing Director for Admin and Finance Affairs Executive Oversight of Finance, Human Resources, Materials Management and Health Information Systems.
From 2011 to the present day, Mr. Al Janahi has worked as the Chief of Business Services, supporting the Managing Director in setting relevant system wide policies that provides resources and expertise to support the implementation of corporate goals and objectives and the executive and strategic leadership of Finance, Supply Chain, Health Information and Communication Technology, Human Resources and Drug Supply. He has been an active member of the commissioning teams of all major HMC facilities since 1987.
