Gouhua Zeng MD, PhD
Gouhua Zeng is a professor and Consultant Urologist in the Department of Urology, Minimally Invasive Surgery Center at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University. Prof essor Gouhua Zeng is also Vice Director of the first affiliated hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, Chief of Guangdong at the key lab of Urology, Chief of the Guangzhou Urology Research Institute, Chief of Endoscopic Training Center of Health for the Ministry of P. C. China and Director of the Endourology Fellowship Program that is formally recognized by the Endourology society. Professor Zeng has finished more than 10000 endourologic procedures including all kinds of PCNLs, rigid URS and RIRS. He is also a pioneer of Flexible URS in China and he and his group performed more than 700 flex-URS per year. In addition, he and his colleagues created a unique mini-PCNL technique, named Chinese Mini-PCNL. Currently, Professor Zeng and his team have completed more than 25000 Chinese Mini-PCNLs, and achieved good clinical outcomes. On the basis of “Micro-PCNL” and “UMP” techniques, Prof essor Zeng invented a new minimally invasive technique in treatment of renal stones, called “Super-Mini-PCNL (SMP)”. It has the advantages of both the “Micro-PCNL” and “UMP” techniques. Professor Zeng has organized more than 300 workshops about Endourology and stone disease in China and more than 3000 Chinese residents have been trained in his Endoscopic training center. His training center was certified Endourology society fellowship program in August 2014. Also, Professor Zeng has more than 100 academic papers that have been published in national and international journals and 10 books about stone disease have been published.
