Dr. Samrah Ahmed

Dr. Samrah Ahmed completed her doctorate in clinical neuroscience at the University of Cambridge. She was a research fellow at St George’s London and a senior research fellow at the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, University of Oxford.
She is currently Assistant Professor at the University of Reading, leading the Brain Health and Dementia Lab. She is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, developing clinical training for students and clinicians in dementia diagnostics. Dr Ahmed’s research focuses on clinical phenotyping in Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal dementia using neuropsychology and neuroimaging techniques.
Dr Ahmed has a respected international profile in the field of dementia diagnostics. She has authored over 40 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, including international criteria for atypical dementia. She is the Dementia Research Lead for the British Geriatric Society, an executive member of Alzheimer’s Research UK Thames Valley Network, and editorial board member for Frontiers in Neurology.
