Dr. Nawal Al-Tamimi

Dr. Al Tamimi has obtained her Fachkunde and Fachaerzt (German Board Specialization Degrees) in Radiation Protection and in Nuclear Medicine in 2009 and 2011 respectively from Heidelberg University Hospital. She had then completed her fellowship at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) in the Quality and Patient Safety in 2014/2015. She has also completed the Program of Clinical Effective in Harvard School for Public Health in 2014. She practiced medicine for the last 18 years in HMC, 12 years as Nuclear Medicine Physician and then appointed as the PET CT Clinical Lead in 2011 till 2017. Then she was appointed as the A/ executive director in 2018 at the Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute. Dr. Al Tamimi is the National Patient Safety Collaborative (HMC) Lead. Dr. Al Tamimi is particularly interested in coaching, mentoring and teaching quality improvement activities across Healthcare System, Faculty development and building staff capacity and capability to ensure Patient Safety delivery and Quality of service across State of Qatar. She is actively involved in many conferences as a speaker. Dr. Al Tamimi and her Nuclear Medicine team received the “Star of Excellence Award” in December 2013 for the distinction role in improving flow of cardiac patients at HMC. She is the pioneer for the Quality Improvement Training Program in the Clinical Imaging Service department in HMC in 2015.
