Debbie is an experienced mental health nurse who has worked in a number of senior nurse leadership positions in mental health services in the United Kingdom, Australia and more recently Qatar
Her current responsibilities include workforce capacity building, advancement of clinical practice, development and implementation of educational curriculum and the promotion and integration of translational research.
Debbie is a reviewer for two high ranking peer reviewed mental health nursing journals , presents regularly at international conferences and has co-authored a number of publications Her clinical expertise and interests are cognitive behavioral therapy, working with psychosis, minimsation of aggression and violence, physical health, clinical supervision and patient and family engagement .
Her contribution to the nursing industry has been recognized by her peers and also consumers of mental health services. In 2010 Debbie was was nominated and selected as Australian Mental Health Nurse of the year and 2011 she was conferred as Associate Professor of Nursing at Curtin University West Australia .
