As a consultant of surgery at Hamad Medical Corporation, he is specialized in hepatobiliary surgery and liver transplant. He earned his medical degree at Sohag Faculty of Medicine in Egypt and then completed a general surgery residency at Sohag University Hospital. He was awarded a Monbukagakusho scholarship from the Japanese government and got a doctorate degree in living-donor liver transplantation from Kyoto University in Japan. Then, he had training as a fellow in HPB surgery and liver transplant at University of Birmingham Hospital in the United Kingdom and the University of Alberta Hospital in Canada.
