Dr Humaira Khan

I am a senior consultant radiologist within the department of Breast Imaging at Hamad Medical Corporation since 2022 leveraging over ninteen years of specialized experience in Female Imaging. Prior to this role, I served as the Clinical Director of Breast Imaging at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust (SWH), where I oversaw the largest breast screening service in Birmingham and the 13th largest nationally within the UK.

Beyond my clinical practice, I maintain a deep commitment to medical education and professional standards. I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education (PGCME) from the University of Dundee. My significant academic contributions include serving as a Senior Academy Teacher and simulation team member at SWH while in the University of Birmingham I acted as an OSCE examiner and sat on the MBBCh student selection interview panel. I have contributed to radiology education and quality as an examiner for the West Midlands FRCR Teaching Course and recently as member of the Qatar Board of Medical Specialties, the national body responsible for radiology registrar certification.

I am also a peer reviewer for Clinical Radiology, the international journal recognized for its strong Impact Factor.

I actively participate in shaping clinical practice through my membership on the Qatar Breast Cancer Guideline Development Team and regularly share insights as a moderator and speaker at breast radiology conferences in Qatar and the UK.

Complementing my clinical and academic work, I am actively engaged in advancing research. I have participated in key Breast and Gynaecological cancer trials, including the ROCkeTS trial, and served as Principal Investigator for the PROSPECTS trial.​
