Professor Bryony Dean Franklin

Professor Bryony Dean Franklin is Director of the Center for Medication Safety and Service Quality, a joint research unit between Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and UCL School of Pharmacy, where Bryony is Professor of Medication Safety. 

She is a theme lead for the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Imperial Patient Safety Translational Research Centre and the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit in Healthcare Associated Infection and Antimicrobial Resistance at Imperial College London.

Professor Franklin has been involved with medication safety research for nearly twenty years, and her work encompasses medication safety, evaluation of technology relating to medication, and how we can support the public role in patient safety.

She has written more than 100 peer reviewed research papers plus numerous peer reviewed reports and other publications.  She is an associate editor for the journal BMJ Quality and Safety, and a member of the editorial board for BMC Patient Safety.  She is a practicing hospital pharmacist.
