Dr. Salha Bujassoum Al-Bader, Sr. Consultant, Medical Oncology at the National Centre for Cancer Care & Research. Chairperson of Medical Oncology and Palliative Care Medicine, Director of Cancer Genetic.
In addition, she is holding multiple positions in Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) such as Clinical Lead of Breast Cancer Program since 2005-till present, Lead of National Clinical Advisory Board of Qatar Breast Cancer and Director of Cancer Genetics, Assistant Chair of HMC - Precision Medicine Committee.
She obtained Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 1992. She finished her post-graduate studies in Canada and received the Specialty Certificate in Internal Medicine/Hematology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Toronto-Canada in 2000. Obtained additional certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine/Clinical Hematology and Medical Oncology, Toronto, Canada in 2000/2001/2004.
He was appointed as Consultant in Haematology/Oncology in Hamad General Hospital from February 2003 to 2005 then promoted as Sr. Consultant in Haematology/Oncology in NCCCR in 2005. She is member at International Oncology Societies such ESMO, ASCO, in addition to International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) Scientific Council. She served on many HMC committees including hospital research committee, Qatar medical board committee. Her research activities focused on breast, gynaecological malignancy, and cancer genetics. She has multiple active grants from QNRF. She has been the author for several publications and guidelines. She established multiple services unique to cancer program one of those is ACGME-I Accredited Medical Oncology Fellowship. She is a founder of hospital based standard risk breast cancer screening in 2008 and founder of Hereditary Cancer Genetic Program in 2013, Breast Tumour Board in 2005.
She is a lead of Clinical Advisory for Cerner Oncology Solution Implementation Team 2015. Clinical lead with UHN - HMC collaboration breast site 2016.
In recognition of her effort in improving patient care, she received HMC -6 star of excellence award in last six consecutive years.
In addition, she is Chair of the Organizing Committee of Annual Qatar Breast Cancer Conference which is being held regularly in month of October for the last seven consecutive years along with her active role in public breast cancer awareness and she was awarded with two certificates for HMC Patient Experience Forum 2019. Most recently, she obtained Master of Molecular Oncology: Molecular Basis of Cancer 2019-2020. Her major interest is breast cancer and cancer genetics, and she has several publications in those fields. In addition, she has been speaker in local and regional conferences, and her posters has been accepted in local academic institutes in addition to regional and international levels.
