HASSAN AL THANI
Dr. Hassan Al Thani is the Head of Trauma and Vascular Surgery Sections of Hamad General Hospital, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ireland and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and completed his surgical training in both Qatar and Canada. He completed his training in General Surgery, Trauma and Vascular Surgery at McMaster University Faculty of Health Sciences in Hamilton, Canada. In 2004, after completion of his training, he joined Hamad General Hospital as a Senior Consultant in the Department of Surgery. In the same year he established the Vascular Surgery Section. He has Master’s Degree in Logistics Hospitals Management from International Transport and Logistics Institute – Cairo, Egypt and recently finished his International Executive Master’s Degree in Emergency and Disaster Management in Georgetown University, Qatar.
Dr. Al Thani is the author or co-author of more than two hundred publications and peer-reviewed articles and he also has nine book chapters.
In addition, Dr. Al Thani was involved in a number of administrative duties which included Board Member of Hamad Medical Corporation from 2006-2008, Chairman of the Organ Transplant Committee from 2008-2009, Board Member of Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar from 2008 - 2012, Executive Board Member of the Gulf Vascular Society from 2007, President of the Gulf Vascular Society from 2009, and Board Member of Qatar Medical College and Chair of ATLS Chapter among others.
Fabio FIGUEIREDO
Dr. Fabio has recently joined Hamad Medical corporation as a Senior Consultant of orthopaedic surgery. He completed his basic orthopaedic training (including a reconstructive microsurgery fellowship) in Brazil, and then moved to the United States - where he completed orthopaedic trauma as well as hand/wrist surgery fellowships and practiced for about 10 years. Dr. Fabio also served as Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Loma Linda University (California).
HASAN AZZAM ABU HEJLEH
Finished MBBS from Jordan university in 2002. Completed Arab board in orthopaedics and trauma residency training at HMC in 2009. Attended fellowship training in MSK oncology and advanced reconstruction in McGill university Montreal/Canada in 2015-2016. Now, Orthopaedic residency program associated director and consultant orthopaedic/MSK oncology surgeon in HMC Doha-Qatar.
SALAH AL-BURDENI
Dr. Al-Burdeni is working as Trauma and Foot & Ankle Specialist, Hamad General Hospital (Doha, Qatar). He has a Trauma and Foot & Ankle Fellowship from Western University – Victoria Hospital (London, Ontario).
OSAMA KOKASH
Dr. Kokash Osama, Senior Consultant, Anaesthesia, and Head of HMC’s Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Program. In 1985, he received specialized training in anaesthesia and Intensive Care from West Germany. In 2012, he earned his diploma in hyperbaric medicine.
Mohammed MUNEER
Dr Mohammed Muneer is an associate consultant at the Plastic Surgery Department at Hamad General Hospital. He specialized in Plastic Reconstructive and Hand Surgery. In 2020, he got his fellowship from The Christine M. Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery, Kentucky-USA.
Gustav Frans Strandvik
Dr. Gustav Frans Strandvik is a Senior Consultant and Co-Director in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit of Hamad General Hospital, and is the Co-director of the Trauma Critical Care Fellowship Program. He has lived in Qatar since 2016. His main areas of expertise within the hospital are Trauma Intensive Care and Medical education. He is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians, Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, UK, and a Founding Fellow of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine, UK.
Dr. Gustav worked as a Consultant in the South-East of England for several years, after specializing in London in 2009. He has authored several book chapters in critical care and anaesthesia and has published articles in high impact peer-reviewed joumals. His current research interests include similarities and differences in critical illness when the primary insult is trauma.
ZOHAIR ALI ALARABI
Mr.Zohair Ali Alarabi is a Clinical Dietitian Supervisor in the Dietetics and Nutrition department at Hamad Medical Corporation – Qatar. Mr. Alarabi has completed B.Sc and M. Sc in clinical Nutrition from Jordan. He has over 10 years experience in nutrition therapy for general surgery and orthopedics patient population. He is also a clinical dietitian preceptor for the Qatar university Nutrition Department students. He is also a part of many research projects in the field of nutrition and studies focused on Diabetic and weight management field. He has been a part of several conferences as a speaker on clinical nutrition and dietary management. Mr. Alarabi is an active member in the community activities creating awareness on nutritional health.
SURESH DEVARAJ
Mr. Suresh Devaraj, RN, CHSE., from India, currently working as a Paramedic in HMC Ambulance service for 8 Years. Also, he is an Instructor in HMCAS Training Department for the past 5 Years in developing and implementing various CPD activities, including Trauma CPD.
MOHAMED KHALAF
Mr. Mohamad Khalaf is qualified registered nurse and plaster technician. His area of special interest is management of complex soft tissue injuries and wound care. He has extensive training in Qatar, Egypt and UAE. He is instructor in Qatar Plaster Technician Course.
LAURELYN JAUCIAN
Laurelyn Jaucian is an Acting Charge Nurse/Registered General Nurse at the Bone and Joint Centre, HMC. She is perusing her higher education in Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Arts in Nursing.
