Dr. Jason Howard
 
Dr. Jason Howard is the Division Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at Sidra Medicine, an academic Women and Children’s Hospital in Doha, Qatar. He is also the Director of Research for Sidra’s Department of Surgery and is an Assistant Professor at Weill Cornell Medicine.
Dr. Howard is a pediatric orthopaedic and spine surgeon specializing in the treatment of neuromuscular disorders, pediatric spinal deformity, and pediatric hip disorders. Originally from Canada, he completed his orthopaedic surgery residency training at the University of Calgary and holds clinical fellowships in pediatric orthopaedics from Melbourne, Australia and pediatric spine from Auckland, New Zealand. Dr. Howard also has a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering and completed graduate studies in Biodesign through the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering at Stanford University. His clinical and research interests are in the areas of idiopathic and neuromuscular scoliosis, and medical device design. He was recently awarded a large research grant to continue the development of a novel approachs for performing minimally invasive multilevel posterior spine surgery utilizing laparoscopic techniques and robotic assistance.
