Dr. Nasir Quraishi
 
Mr. Nasir Quraishi is a Consultant Spinal Surgeon and Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Nottingham. He is also currently serving as the Head of Service for Spinal Surgery at the Centre for Spinal Studies and Surgery, Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham. Here, he leads perhaps the largest teaching institute for spinal surgery in the world training 15 Spinal Fellows every year.

He completed his training in the University of Manchester, Imperial College London and Cambridge/East Anglia. Following this, he received advanced spinal fellowship training in Toronto, and was then awarded the prestigious Norman Capner Travelling Fellowship by the Royal College of Surgeons in England to the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, USA. On returning to the UK, he began as a Consultant Spine Surgeon in Oxford, moving a year later to take up his current post in Nottingham in 2009. More recently in 2014, he was awarded the very prestigious Scoliosis Research Society (SRS) Travelling Fellowship visiting 4 host spinal surgery departments in the USA.

Mr. Quraishi is an award winning international presenter, author of several publications and presentations in peer reviewed journals and a faculty member of numerous international spine societies, including AO Spine as a Platinum faculty member. He has completed a Master of Laws, with an honours thesis on 'Clinical Negligence and the Spine Surgeon', and is currently writing up his PhD thesis on 'Outcome & Health Related Quality of Life Following Surgery in Spinal Cancers.’
